As leaders in the Hispanic Community, we do not take lightly our responsibility to continue our good work, and in providing scholarships, for it flows from a legacy that each LULAC generation in turn has upheld for the benefit of the overall Washington DC community.

On February 14, LULAC 11041 members elected Marilyn Nevy Cruz as president. Marilyn steps into the presidency of the historic Council 11041 with a formidable background in justice. A Los Angeles native, Marilyn serves as a Capital Trial Investigator for the Federal Death Penalty Unit. Her academic journey is equally impressive; she holds a BA and MA in Political Science and is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Administration and Public Affairs. Marilyn is focused on "growth, leadership, and impact." Her administration aims to bridge the council’s rich history with modern innovation by:
"Together, we rise as one LULAC family. Proud of who we are, where we come from, and the futures we are building,” Marilyn said. “We are here to break barriers, create change, and remind our youth that the sky isn’t the limit… it’s just the starting point.”
