lULAC 11123 Elects Alexa Ramos Marquez

Representing the next generation of advocates, Alexa Ramos Marquez was elected council president of American University LULAC in February 2026. Alexa is a Wilmington, Delaware native currently studying Psychology and Public Health at American University. At just 20 years old, she has already spent two years dedicated to the LULAC mission, focusing her energy on mental health and health equity for underrepresented students. Alexa is dedicated to making the university experience more navigable and inclusive through:

  • Reviving the Familia Program, a mentorship initiative pairing E-Board members with first-year students.
  • Launching a monthly Instagram newsletter to boost campus engagement and transparency.
  • Creating a "united, informed, and supported" environment for student members.

"Our community has always been strongest when we stand together. In times like these, when so much negativity and division exist, it is more important than ever that we support one another as brothers and sisters,” Alexa said. “Through unity, resilience, and pride in who we are, we will continue striving for greatness and uplifting one another along the way."

Alexa will serve alongside Vice President Adrian Mata, Secretary Alexandra Valdez, Treasurers Hector Garcia and Vanessa Castillo, Editor In Chief Cris Ramnath, Director of Development Carolyn Silva, Director of Community Engagement Marina Caraballo, Director of Event Planning Jeromino Freydell-Cristancho, Director of Communications Lauren Guajadro, Director of DEI Jacob Alejandro, and Freshman Liaisons Milagros Curtis and Katherina De Leon.
